Preaching to the Choir

I never really enjoy the Sunday sermon. I think that every word is being directed at me. My life. See, the person delivering the sermon is talking about being good. You know the "good" I am talking about. Loving your neighbor, being charitable to those in need, visiting the infirmed and imprisoned, and all those "nots", stealing, bearing false witness, killing and coveting. Don't forget about those seven deadly ones. Please note that deadly here means for my soul, not deadly like blowing people up.

Having not gone to church this past Sunday (because I was being charitable to those in need mind you), I did see some sermons being delivered by various Reverends and Pastors via television. Interestingly enough, the message was pretty much the same. Different orators, different religions, different places, same message.

Jihad Watch has many articles about the sermons being delivered in Mosques around the world. Different orators, different religions, different places, different message.

I hear: "Thou shalt not kill"
They hear: "Thou must kill"

This is not a subtle difference.

Reminds me of Charles Manson and his "religion".
